Apple Music is a great way to listen to a vast library of music on demand, but wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t have to pay for it?

A recurring monthly cost can add up, especially when there are so many subscription services out there asking you to hand over your hard-earned cash every month.

So, with that in mind, today we’re going to do some digging and see if there’s any way you could enjoy all the benefits of Apple Music without paying for them.

Is Apple Music free like Spotify?

Spotify is one of, if not the biggest competitor to Apple Music.

Like Apple Music, Spotify hosts a giant library of music and allows you to stream on-demand, as well as download music to listen offline.

Unlike Apple Music, however, Spotify includes an ad-supported free tier that costs nothing.

Apple Music, by contrast, has opted to avoid an ad-supported model entirely. This is why they do not offer a free tier; all Apple Music plans require a monthly payment.

Does Apple Music Have a Free Trial Period?

Apple Music does offer a free trial.

Once you pick a plan and sign up for Apple Music, if you are subscribing for the first time, you will not be billed right away.

Instead, you will get one month to enjoy Apple Music free of charge to see if you’d like a subscription

Once that month is over, you will be charged according to the plan you selected.

This means that if you try it out and decide you don’t want to pay for it, it’s very important to cancel your subscription before the end of your free 30 days!

Is Apple Music Free on iPads?

To answer this question properly, we’re going to have to clarify the difference between the Apple Music app and the Apple Music subscription service.

The application called Apple Music comes pre-installed on every iOS device, including iPads, iPhones, and so on.

It’s also on macOS devices.

With this app, you can find and directly purchase individual songs or albums without paying a subscription fee (though you will pay individually for the music you buy).

However, the app can also be used with the Apple Music subscription service.

A subscription to the Apple Music service is not included for free with any device.

So, technically, Apple Music the application does come free on your iPad.

Apple Music the subscription service, however, does not.

If you want to enjoy unlimited streaming on Apple Music and downloads, you will have to pay for a monthly subscription, be it from an iPad or any other compatible device.

Is Apple Music Free with Verizon?

Verizon is a major provider of cellular service and offers both Android and iOS smartphones that function on their cellular network.

Apple phones come with the Apple Music app pre-installed, and Android phones can download the Android version of the Apple Music app from the app store.

However, as we already covered, there is a difference between being able to access the application and actually having a subscription to Apple Music.

Verizon does not offer a free subscription to Apple Music simply for being on its network.

Is Apple Music Free on Xbox?

The Xbox line of consoles (Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, etc.) is a series of video game consoles developed by Microsoft.

Apple Music is available as an application for Xbox consoles and allows access to the service with a subscription.

Much like any other device that is capable of using the app, however, you do still need to pay for a subscription, so it is not free.

As we’ve covered, iOS devices like iPhones come pre-installed with the Apple Music app.

However, just like any other device capable of accessing the service, you still need to pay for a subscription to do so.

Is Apple Music Free on PS5?

The Play Station 5 is a video game console developed by Sony. Apple Music is available as a downloadable application on the PS5.

However, once again, you will still need to pay for a subscription in order to use the service.

Is Apple Music Free on Macs?

Much like iOS devices, MacOS devices come pre-installed with the Apple Music application.

As is the case with any other compatible device, you must still pay a monthly fee to use the Apple Music service.

Is Apple Music Free for AirPod Users?

AirPods are wireless BlueTooth earbuds developed by Apple. You can certainly listen to Apple Music through your AirPods.

However, you will still require a paid subscription to do so.

Is Apple Music Free for Students?

Apple Music does have a Student Plan for college students.

It is not free, however, it is deeply discounted at only $5.99 per month.

This is about as close to free as you’re going to get with Apple Music; they don’t really offer free subscriptions to anyone.

But once you submit proof of attendance at an accredited college, you can enjoy Apple Music for a very low price, along with other benefits.

Is Apple Music Free with Prime?

Amazon Prime is a subscription service that offers fast, free shipping on Amazon.com orders, as well as access to a video streaming library and other benefits.

It is a separate service from Apple Music and they must be paid for separately.

Is Apple Music Free with Shazam?

Shazam is an application that can help you identify a song based on a short audio sample.

It is unrelated to Apple Music.

Any Other Ways to Get Apple Music without Paying?

Certain compatible Apple devices (see the official page linked below) include an offer for an extended 6-month trial.

Apple Music is still not free; you will have to pay up once your 6 months are over, but it is a significantly extended trial offer.

In short, there is NO way to get Apple Music for free, only discounts and longer trials.
