Element TV Problems: 5 Most-Common Issues (SOLVED)

1. Element TV Won’t Connect to the Internet

2. Element TV Only has a Black Screen

  A black screen could mean different things, but to understand where the problem is, you need to check the video sources:

• You can try cycling through other video sources (e.g., TV, HDMI, USB) to see if anything changes.
• If there’s no image on HDMI, but you’re getting pictures with USB, it’s likely the cable needs replacement.
• If there’s no signal when set to cable or satellite, but you’re getting pictures on other HDMI sources, then the problem is with your provider.

If the screen is black with other sources, try rebooting your TV:

• Unplug the TV from the power source and let it rest for a minute. 
• Plug-in power and restart the TV. 

Should the screen remain black, the problem is likely with a component linked to a screen.

3. Element TV Has no Sound

Another common issue like the black screen, an Element TV without any sound might be caused by different things. 

These can be fixed quickly, so there’s no need to panic. 

First, check if the TV if it’s set to mute:

• If the TV is not on mute and an external device is plugged into the TV through the HDMI port, ensure that the device is set to output on the TV. 
• Try checking other sources, such as other HDMI ports or the USB port if audio plays. 
• You may also want to check if any loose connections with your cables and any wireless headphones paired to the TV. You can check for wireless devices under the audio settings. 
• Should there be any devices plugged in, unpair them first and check for any sound.   

If there is still no sound, the next thing to check is your streaming platforms:

• Try playing another video streaming service and see if audio plays.
• For instance, if you’re having issues with Netflix, you can try other services like Facebook Watch or YouTube to troubleshoot. 
• If there is sound with another platform, the problem is with the streaming service that’s on mute.

 Before taking the TV to a repair specialist, there’s still one more fix to try: resetting the TV. 

Usually called a Factory Reset, resetting your TV gives it a clean slate that flushes out your TV of any corrupted or broken files that causes performance issues. 

For Element TV, here’s how you reset your TV:

• Open the Menu and go to the TV Settings. 
• Click on General and press Restore Default. 
• Follow the on-screen prompts. 

Remember that a Factory Reset wipes out all your apps and settings, so it’s best to note these so you can quickly restore them after installation. 

If the problem persists, it’s time to take it to a repair center to check on your TV.

4. Element TV Pixelates or Stutters

Pixelation or stuttering on your TV is attributed to weak connections fed to your TV.

This issue is not just with streaming platforms but also happens when the signal is weak on the coaxial connection. 

That is why video streaming services automatically adapt to the speed of your Internet connection. 

If your Internet connection is relatively stable and you’re experiencing pixelation or buffering, you might want to check if the app you’re using has any updates.

App updates may have updates to some glitches that affect the performance when streaming. A reinstallation is also a good last resort.

In the case of satellite or cable TV, you won’t be able to fix this independently, as this would depend on your service provider. 

If you’re using an antenna, you can adjust the placement to improve the signal. 

Note that the weather can also disrupt the signal of free broadcast and satellite channels on an HDTV. These can also contribute to pixelation.  

5. Element TV Cannot Play Netflix in 4k Resolution

 If you’re using one of the 4k TVs from Element but wonder why you can’t get a 4k display from Netflix, here’s the answer for that.  

Netflix does not stream in 4k for all devices. Netflix sets criteria for 4k certification and Element, unfortunately, isn’t one of these brands that Netflix certified.

So, if your reason for upgrading your Netflix plan is for 4k resolution on your TV, you might want to hold back from the upgrade.

You won’t have a problem finding the right app for you, as Android TV has access to thousands of apps available on the Google Play Store. 

– Disadvantages of Element TVs

• Unlike other budget brands, element TVs don’t have the best screen quality, like TCL or Hisense. 
• They’re not ideal for gaming. 
• They have yet to be certified for 4k streaming by Netflix. 

Final Thoughts
