The Eufy Smart Baby Monitor is a Wi-Fi-connected video baby monitor that offers a variety of features. It can be used for both indoor and outdoor monitoring, has two-way communication, and includes a built-in temperature sensor.
You can also add up to four additional cameras if your child’s room is large and you want to be able to see them from multiple angles.
In this article, we will look at the various ranges of Eufy baby monitors.
Here’s the Range of Eufy Baby Monitors:
The Eufy baby monitors can transmit a signal up to 460 feet in a standard home setting. In an “open field” setting with no walls or decks, you can expect up to 1,000 feet range with the monitors. This is a little less than the average baby monitor range.
Note, this is only around half of the range of Motorola baby monitors.
What Eufy Baby Monitor Has the Best Range?
The Eufy brand offers two sets of baby monitors:
- Spaceview Baby Monitor
- Spaceview Pro Baby Monitor
Both models offer the same technology when it comes to transmitting the signal and they have a range of 460 feet in a house/home indoor setting. In an open field you can expect around double range, but note that this is a bit less that what we normally see with baby monitors.
Eufy, a subsidiary of Anker Innovations, is known for its affordable, high-quality products. The company’s baby monitor is no different.
How Long Do Baby Monitors Generally Reach?
Most brand baby monitors will have a range of around 700 feet indoor, and this is lowered once we look at homes with brick walls and/or concrete decks or walls.
Some monitors have a range of only 300 feet while others can range up to 1,000 feet (indoor). The main factor is how the walls and floors are built.
The range of a baby monitor depends on the signal strength, but it also depends on other factors like interference from other wireless devices in your home or office.
Interference can be caused by other wireless devices such as:
- routers,
- microwaves
- Bluetooth
- and cordless phones.
The longest range we’ve seen on a baby monitor is 1,000 feet — but 500 feet should be plenty for most people.
If you have a large house, or a lot of walls between the baby’s room and yours, you may need to use more than one monitor.
- The Summer Infant Sure Sight has a range of 1,000 feet (300 meters). The Eufy Baby Monitor is half of that.

How Stable Is the Signal Over Longer Distances?
The Eufy Baby Monitor does not have any problems transmitting over longer distances as long as the Wi-Fi signal is stable.
You may need to install a Wi-Fi extender if you are experiencing problems. This is not a problem with the baby unit or the parent unit as you rely on your Wi-Fi signal. It’s cheap and easy to extend the Wi-Fi signal in your home.
This is because it uses an RF frequency of 2.4 GHz which is considered as one of the best frequencies for wireless communication.
The night vision feature will work at a distance of 13-16 feet, according to the manual provided by Eufy. This means you will need to place the camera pretty close to the baby so you need to have a wall mount or table close to the crip.
Note that it’s advisable to not place the camera too close to the kid for two reasons:
- The baby may hit it
- The RF frequencies may affect the child.
The infrared camera range is not that important if you just rely on sound. But at night it may be nice to have a visual on your kid as you will be able to tell how he/she is covered and whether you need to go in and add a blanket etc.
Can You Extend the Range of Eufy Baby Monitors?
Yes, it is possible to extend the range of Eufy baby monitors.
There are many ways to do this and they all depend on your budget and needs:
The easiest way is to extend your Wi-Fi signal.
This can be done with a Wi-Fi extender or just by adding a switch and a long ethernet cable to make sure you can get a good signal in the baby’s room as well as in the parent’s bedroom and living room.
The other way (which is a bit more complicated) is to increase the signal sent from the baby unit.
You can do this by upgrading the antenna on the unit which requires a bit if soldering work and a Wi-Fi antenna.
Here’s a video showing you how to do just that:
In the video, you will see how to open the baby unit and add a stronger antenna that will allow for a stronger signal and therefore better range.
Why Does My Eufy Baby Monitor Say “Out of Range”?
The Eufy Baby Monitor uses a WiFi connection to send audio and video to your phone or tablet, so you can see and hear what’s going on in the nursery.
However, there are times when it might say “out of range.” This happens when there is no connection between the camera and your phone.
If you’re having trouble setting up your monitor, here are some tips:
- Make sure that the camera is connected to WiFi. If it isn’t, try turning on the WiFi on both devices and make sure they’re connected to the same network. You can do this by going into Settings > WiFi > Advanced Options > Choose Network. You’ll need to enter in your password if it’s password protected.
- If your network requires a username or password, make sure you entered them correctly into each device.
- If both devices are connected but not communicating with each other, try restarting both devices by holding down their power buttons until they turn off and then back on again (this can take several seconds).
- Try reconnecting one of the devices by going into Settings > WiFi and clicking on “Forget This Network” followed by “Connect”.
Conclusion
The Eufy Baby Monitor is a popular monitor that allows parents to keep an eye on their baby while they sleep.
The monitor has been around for a while and it has received some good reviews from parents.
